I am Now reading Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. It is about a boy named Brian Robeson. He is on a flight, after his parents tragic divorce. He thinks about all the fights they went throw, and how this divorce has effected his life so greatly. the pilot watches how Brian gazes over the planes controls. The pilot offers Brian a chance to fly the plane. Brian eventually starts to fly the plane after declining the first offer. The pilot suddenly jerks and falls to the floor. He is having a heart attack. The pilot is dead and Brian, a young boy is in the plane alone with no prior experience to flying a plane. The radio wasn't working either. so Brian makes a decision to land the plane in the L shaped lake. Brian is stuck in the wilderness. Hungry, tired, and thirsty.
As you can  see from my summary that Hatchet Is already having some action in it. I chose Hatchet because it is a different type of genre, realistic fiction. I usually stay with fantasy or science fiction. But I wanted to branch off and try a new genre. I also herd that Hatchet is very action packed and is a great book for my age. I also read a review, it showed me what impact this book has on people.

I finished I am Number Four. I rate it a 8-10. I thought it was a really good book to read. It was very enjoyable. The reason I gave it an 8 because it didn't have many cliff hangers. I love cliff hangers, they just make me want to keep reading on until I finish the book. But since there were little to none cliff hangers it was sometimes hard to move on. Other than that I liked the book and the genre. Fiction books are my favorite type of genre.I would recommend the lovers of science fiction with some fantasy mixed in. It had the alien and superhero subject in there.
Just to compare, I watched the movie, also. I thought that the book was a lot better than the movie. the movie portrayed the characters a lot different than the book did. And I liked how the book portrayed them rather than the movie did. Also, the movie left some key details out that the book contained. The movie was just not up to par with the book, in my opinion.
I am Number Four, was fun to read. But I think that my next book wont be scientific fiction. Since most of my books I read are that genre, I think I want to branch out and maybe read a mystery with some cliff hangers. Or maybe even a inspirational biography about someone I look up to.
Probably my favorite character was the main character "John". He is a dynamic and round character because we get to see his full personality through his actions.

I am currently reading I am number Four. There have been lots of twists and turns since I last posted. Our main character's fake name is John Smith. Yes, John Smith the most ordinary name one could think of. John's successor or father figure goes by Henri. Henri is very persistent on telling John to fit in. John hasn't been doing a great job of fitting lately. He's the new kid in school and has already managed to get in a fight with the most popular kid in school. Remember John is being chased by things that are trying to kill him and the rest of his kind. So John has to try to fit in and not leave a scent for Mogadorians. The Mogadorians are the things that are tracking John down and trying to execute him.
John has made a friend in school his name is Sam. He is picked on a lot and doesn't have a very good home life. His dad went missing when Sam was a young boy. His Dad believed that aliens would come to earth. Little did Sam know his Dad was right, aliens did come to earth and he was in the midst of one, John. The aliens were John and his people. Sam grew up all his life thinking his Dad was crazy.

One prediction I am make in the future of this book is I think that Sam will find out that John is an Alien. And John and Sam will go looking for his Father because he went missing for a reason, He didn't just leave Sam. Also I think that John will fall in love with a girl name Sarah. Sarah and John have been hanging out a lot lately. Sarah is the reason why John got into a fight with the popular guy in school. Mark (The popular jock in school) saw Sarah and John getting close and he got very jealous. which lead to the fight.

"But today was different. There was something very satisfying about being pushed by somebody and responding by pushing back."(Lore 53) This quote is very significant to the story. It is significant because this shows that the main character will put himself out there and be noticed. This is a huge risk. The things that are tracking him down will be able to find him easier. If he chooses not to retaliate he will be taking the safer route of which his successor would like him to do.
The best thing about I Am Number Four is it shows life of someone being different. The main character is very different. He is not human and he moves around from school to school every six months or so. That is very different from my life. I have stayed in Mason all of my life, and yes I am a human not a superhero like the main character. That is what interests me about most books. The author does a great job of conveying a mood that You know the characters in the story and like your living his life too.
The main character is short, but stocking. He is very strong due to his super ability. The only other character who is in the book most of the time, he is the main characters " father figure." He protects the main character, takes care of him, and gives him advice just like a parent would. These two characters don't have names that stay constant. Since they are always moving their names change too.

I am currently reading I am Number Four. I chose this book because I love Science Fiction. Science Fiction is all that I read. I have been reading reviews online About some good books that I've herd about. I saw the reviews about I am Number Four. There were nothing but outstanding reviews.
I am Number Four Is about a young superhero just trying to fit in and not stand out. He looks like a human, lives like a human, talks like a human, But is not a human.  He is the fourth out of nine. These things are Killing them in order from one to nine. There are three dead which means he is next. The main character moves schools constantly and his name never stays the same. He is always running and trying to hide from the things that are chasing him and trying to kill him.
I think in I am Number Four. The main character will meet up with another superhero and they will take down the Things that are trying to kill them. I think this because the main character is always reminding us that if he gets to close to another superhero then charm would break. That means the things wont kill them in order they will kill them in whatever order they want.

My summer reading book that I read was I am the Messenger. My book is about a young guy named, Ed Kennedy who is an underage cab driver.  He lives a very ordinary life in a very ordinary town some where in Australia.  He lacks self confidence in all aspects of his life. One Day he is in a Bank with his buddies. A man arrives and threatens to fire his gun if he doesn't get money. The Criminal runs out the door with the money. Something in Ed made him run out and stop him.  Ed Stops him and was put in the paper idolized as a hero. After about a week everything returned to normal. Until the day the first ace arrives in the mail and his mission begins.  He is suddenly thrust into a world where he is helping and hurting, when necessary complete strangers. He changes peoples life mostly in a good way, but sometimes he hurts people. When he is hurting someone it is for the greater good. As his character evolves, Ed soon realizes his purpose and who is behind his secret mission.
I think I am the Messenger was one of the best books I have read. I would recommend it for a mature audience because it says some inappropriate words, and it needs an audience who can handle that kind of language. Also the characters use some slang language that's apart of the Australian language. The thing that I liked most about I am the Messenger was ironically the message. The lesson was ordinary people can do little things to make other peoples lives better.
